World Cancer Day was celebrated on 4th of February 2019.World Cancer Day is the one singular initiative under which the entire world can unite together in the fight against the global cancer epidemic. The theme for 2019 is "I am and I will". The objective of the event was Support cancer patients and survivors with the physical and emotional impacts of cancer even after treatment ends. Other objective is to prevent the cancer and give awareness to society about cancer. Mrs. Hemlata Nimje was showed videos for the causes and treatment of cancer disease. Principal Dr. Sagar Wankhede, interacted with the students highlighted the importance of celebrating days like cancer Day to create awareness about healthcare issues in the society. He discussed the following points about how to prevent the cancer from society.
1) call on government leaders to commit adequate resources to reduce cancer deaths and provide a better quality of life for patients and survivors.
2) Educate themselves and others about the link between certain lifestyle behaviors – including smoking, poor diet, and lack of physical activity – and cancer risk.
3) Dispel rumors and myths that lead to stigma and discrimination against people with cancer in some communities.
4) Encourage schools and workplaces to implement nutrition, physical activity, and no smoking policies that help people adopt healthy habits for life.
